Young artists and their teachers from seven Liverpool schools have worked with visual artist Claire Weetman to show you 800 years of Liverpool history on a fantastic voyage of discovery.
This Bayeux Tapestry for the 21st Century travels from the signing of the Charter by King John in 1207, through to preparations for Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year. Striking drawings, colourful collages, paintings and photographs have been created to illustrate the city’s buildings, people from its history and important icons and landmarks.
Over 1000 children from seven schools have created this visual story to celebrate Liverpool’s 800th birthday. The partnerships created between schools are the basis for another exciting project next year to celebrate Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year.
