Figure Studies at the Heath Business Park
Claire Weetman will be showing her Figure Study series of work at the Heath Business Park, Runcorn between 1 May and 8 June.
Drawings onto transparent surfaces were inspired by the movement of figures beyond and are exhibited as temporary installations, framed drawings and as photographs.
Graphite on tracing paper works on show were produced by attaching the paper to a television screen; the marks made in response to the changing position of a newsreader. Two paint marker on acetate pieces were produced in a similar manner, responding to a weather presenter.
The photographic images document a live art event where the artist drew directly onto glass, the figures of visitors beyond were traced around. These photographs are now all that is left of what was a temporary drawing.
Marketing Manager Lesley Lunt initiated exhibitions at the Heath in collaboration with The Brindley’s Visual Arts Development Officer, Louise Hesketh. Lesley said “We have a large reception area which is ideal as a backdrop for displaying artists’ work, both residents and visitors to The Heath are enjoying the artwork on display"
“Many people may not realise that The Heath is open to the public during office hours. We have an excellent restaurant, hairdressing salon, leisure suite and several shops and we are always very pleased to welcome members of the public.”
The affordable artworks, ranging from £75 for photographs to £90 for original drawings, will be on display to the public, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, in The Heath reception area.
