In 2007 Liverpool Culture Company's Creative Learning Networks Programme looked to the past and celebrated Liverpool 800th Birthday with 21 unique projects that animated the City Centre and its neighbourhoods. Visual Artist Claire Weetman worked with seven schools in the Walton area on a 21st century Bayeux Tapestry charting the history of Liverpool.
In 2008 we look to the future; children and young people from across the city have taken on the role of city planners and designed a 21st Century Liverpool that advocates health and wellbeing. Claire is working with the same schools on a project titled 'Window to the Future'
Linking Claire’s drawing practice with curriculum areas, schools in the network will create an impressive installation of windows; from small individual visions of how we will keep healthy to large installations of drawings showing how our streets will look in years from now.

Workshops and teacher training sessions are taking place in schools from the end of May to the end of July, where teachers and pupils will let their imaginations run wild. Check the Generation 21 blog page for updates and to take a look through our windows.
